Question

DiiA (DALI Alliance) certifies DALI-2 products in accredited test laboratories and publishes a public Approved Products List on dali-alliance.org, which lets integrators verify the conformance of a product before purchase.

Answer

True

The DiiA certification programme relies on a small number of accredited test labs worldwide (about five) that run the conformance test sequences defined per device type (DT6 LED, DT8 colour, DT1 emergency, and so on). Once a product passes, it is listed on the public Approved Products List on dali-alliance.org and is allowed to carry the DALI-2 logo on its packaging. This is what guarantees multi-vendor interoperability in a mixed installation; products marketed as "DALI-like" or "DALI compatible" without DiiA certification often exhibit ambiguous behaviour at protocol edge cases (FADE_TIME, query responses, level transitions) and should be avoided in DALI-2 projects.

Preparation tip

Always cross-check the exact model and firmware version on the DiiA Approved Products List before specifying; a manufacturer may have one certified SKU and several non-certified variants in the same product family.
