Question

The usual KNX-to-DALI mapping is: DPT 1.001 to on/off (Direct Arc Power 0/254), DPT 5.001 to linear dimming converted to log by the gear, DPT 232.600 to DT8 RGB, and DPT 17.001 to Recall Scene (DPT 17.001 values 0-63 mapped to DALI scenes 0-15 modulo 16).

Answer

True

The standard KNX-DALI mapping table is: DPT 1.001 (on/off) to Direct Arc Power 0 or 254; DPT 5.001 (0-100 percent) to Direct Arc Power 0-254, with the log curve applied inside the gear; DPT 232.600 (RGB) to DT8 colour (three-channel command); and DPT 17.001 (scene) to Recall Scene 0-15. The mapping is configured in the gateway's vendor tool, and consistency must be checked when several gateways operate in parallel on the same KNX line.

Preparation tip

Cross-check the gateway's idle-state telegram behaviour — some gateways resend DPT 5.001 = 0 as a Direct Arc Power 0 (off), others as a 1 (minimum), and the difference is invisible until commissioning is over.
