The standardised DALI-2 Memory Bank 0 (MB0) contains the gear's identification data: Vendor ID (assigned by DiiA), GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), hardware version, firmware version and serial number.

Answer

True

MB0 is the DALI-2 universal identification block, containing the Vendor ID (2 bytes, assigned by DiiA), Identification Number (GTIN, EAN-13 style), hardware revision, software revision and serial number. With it, a commissioning tool (Lunatone DALI-Cockpit, for example) can automatically identify each gear and load the matching driver template without manual entry.

Preparation tip

Read out MB0 contents to your project file at commissioning time — even if the customer relabels every luminaire, the GTIN gives you a reliable warranty trail.
