Question
The four communication media supported by KNX are TP, IP, RF and PL.
Answer
True
KNX supports four physical media: TP (twisted-pair, the reference bus), IP (Ethernet/Wi-Fi via tunnelling or routing), RF (radio at 868 MHz) and PL (Powerline at 110 kHz over the mains). In practice TP and IP dominate today, while PL110 has seen very limited deployment in new installations since around 2010.
Preparation tip
Memorise the acronyms TP / IP / RF / PL — these four media are foundational and appear repeatedly throughout the syllabus.
