Definition

Two secure session establishment protocols in Matter (CSA). PASE (Passcode Authenticated Session Establishment) is used during initial commissioning via a PIN code. CASE (Certificate Authenticated Session Establishment) secures operational exchanges using NOC (Node Operational Certificate) certificates.
